Ciao Italia Bella... Or Travels in Pre-Digital Age

With this gallery I am launching a new series of travel photoalbums, whereas trying to convert pictures from pre-digital times into something that I personally consider as amusing mix between photoart and the actual photography. Most images are collages as I had to "rescue" them from relatively low quality analog images. I used Nikon F90X and Minolta Dynax 5x in 2002 while travelling throughout Italy. Some of them were appended with retouches from fragments of digital pictures to enhance colour and appearance. All pictures have a musical background based on Italian songs, you might want to turn your speakers on... Great photos. Makes me realize that I need to photograph pictures of the sky when conditions are optimal to add to photos later. The music is nice, but a little distracting. Overall great job.

Hi Eldar! Thanks for taking your time to look through my humble galleries. You have some beautiful shots in these galleries. I guess I can see now why you posted what you posted. About the title "America The Beautiful", I wasn't trying to be sarcastic at all. The phrase between the quotes is something that is oftenly used and in that gallery I was trying to convey the "American Pride" theme. Its kind of like you using "Ciao Italia Bella", which roughly translates to "Farewell Beautiful Italy". Beautiful Italy indeed, but one can also ask "what's so 'Farewell' about these pictures?" or "why not name it 'Viva Italia Bella'?". I'm sure there's an underlying meaning behind "Ciao Italia Bella" that I'm not aware of. But hey I really do like your pictures, makes me want to improve myself. Will work on my galleries more! Cheers!

Grand Set of Photographs and I often visit Italy and yet have not seen such colors of the buildings before. My particular favourite is San Gignimano because it brings back to my wife and I very fond memories, when we were there we were entertained by a harpist who sat in an alcove next to the church. the area he performed in was very cool and romantic - Thanks for bringing back many memories.

I appreciate Eva's comments, however I would recommend to read gallery's header first, whereas I explained that this is not a real photography, rather digiart. 100% of this pictures are heavily renderd in PS. As for Sistine chapel,- I never use flash in any buildings, unless this is allowed. Unfortunately, in Italy everything is prohibited in places of this kind, so people get very frustrated, and I was one of them :-)

Personally I don't like them. The colors in Italy are not like that at all, especially the water of Venice... Don't know, it doesn't belong to reality to me, but of course, it is very personal. On top of that, it is not allowed to make pics inside the sistine chapel, and why all the turist keep doing that, not realizing how bad is for the colors on the wall?
