Fake Pilgrims

Zentsuji, Kagawa Pref., Japan

Zentsuji Temple is one of the 88 stations of "O-henro", the Shikoku Pirgrimage. Real pilgrims wear such clothes and walk the whole distance of approximately 1,000 kilometres. Not so eager pilgrims go by bus, wear casual clothes - and take a souvenir photo here.

Amazing how whenever there is something meaningful, there is someone there to cash in with something cheap! At least it shows the users of these as the faceless souls they are!!

what I find most intriguing is the non-friendly background. maybe these last-minute pilgrims ended up in confinement?!
