ISRAEL

The legendary land of Israel is located between two seas, the Mediterranean and the Red Sea, and at the crossroads of Europe and the East. Israel, known previously by many other names, including the land of Canaan and Palestine, has been subject to continuous upheaval throughout history. Although small, Israel has welcomed immigrants from all over the world and consequently has a multi-national flavour, curious in its blend of east and west, remarkably diverse in its people and strikingly beautiful.

As opposed to the so called "peace lover" I think that Israel is really a welcoming place and although one may say that it is the land of the jews now - if you really check history you'll see it always has been (just open a history book or your holy book). I think that Israel is a miracle, a land with peace loving people. It was the only exceptable solotion for the jews after WW2 and real peace would have come much sooner if Arab nations would except its revived existance for the last sixty years.

In your introduction of Israel you said that Israel is welcoming immigrant from all over the world!! It will be more accurate to say immigrants jews from all over the world and only Jews .When it come to that multi cultural flavor ;well I am sorry but this is what Israel inherited from the Turkish empire through the British occupation of Palestine . My point is : those people did not have the choice, Palestine has been stolen under international circumstances to please the chosen people. Jews were minority in Palestine 10% of the population in 1910. The most increase in number was in the late 30’s with the beginning of WW 2 .The side effect of WW2 in Europe is pretty much over in 1990 with the falling of the Berlin wall. But here in Palestine the side effect is still heavy , and will stay this way until a fair… fair… fair resolution take place . What will come after that… will be called peace. Thank you

Your photos show peace in this land of much tention. Truly fascinating, I love the photos of all the culture! The photos of the Palestinian children and the photos of the Isreali children show such innocence and peace, I wish thats what was depicted on the news!
