On Thursday we went on a winter tour to the Yarra Valley. The area is home to 50+ wineries. Graham was our driver and he lives in the valley. He was a great asset to our trip. the valley is a bit like Napa with rolling hills of vineyards and small towns. We went to the Tokar Winery where we tasted 9 different wines and then had a gourmet lunch. There is a restaurant at the winery and they combine tasting with lunch. the place was packed! We both started with Crispy Fried Quail salad. Lil then had Ricotta Gnocchi and I had Pan Roasted Salmon. Delicious!! Graham then took us the a chocolate factory where they also made ice cream. We both had salted caramel. Finally, we stopped at Coombe Winery for another tasting.
