Wednesday in January at Saint Louis Zoo

The sun came out today and the temperature "soared" into the low forties Fahrenheit,
so I grabbed my Pentax ist* Digital SLR and headed to the Saint Louis Zoo!
Visitor attendance was light, and the animals were enjoying themselves.

Looks like a gorgeous day, lots of great shots. Especially like the spider and hippos.

Good colors and your subjects (hippos, elephants, etc.) were caught in great poses, etc.!

Skip, I really don't mind the families that visit... that is a big part of what the Zoo is about, to reach out and let people experience the wildness first hand. Ed

You are fortunate to live close enough to make the trip. I'd love to spend some quality time there when you don't have all that garbage, bee's, noisey kids and loud mouth woman screaming at kids. Animals are much quieter, and zoo personell don't mind letting you get shots you want. I've found them to be more than proud to show off the animals they care so much for. Some would rather just do their work and leave, but you've always got one or two, that really care. Thanks for sharing.
