Woodpeckers 120615

Cool cloudy calm day, and the birds were out in great numbers, visiting my backyard. Everything from robins to titmouses to finches to chicadees to jays to mourning doves to three species of woodpecker.
Here are two of the visiting woodpeckers.
The Piliated came no closer than 25 yards, oak tree back by the shed. Images cropped a bit.
Red-Bellied came a bit closer, within 10 yards. Cropped a little from the image frames.
Old school Aubell 400mm fixed length lens in T-Mount, manually set aperture. Lens mounted to a Pentax *ist D digital body.
These were with aperture wide open, aperture priority mode, hand held from my kitchen windows through double pane glass.

Thanks! Ed
