Rival 35 Folding Camera

This little camera was in with a lot of other stuff, online auction, as a little "bonus."

Manufacture date is about 1950, Made in Germany, most probably made for export to USA since all the lettering is in English, and Britain had trade restrictions at that time.

Lens is Ennagon f:3.5 / 50mm, in Prontor S shutter, 1 -> 1/300 plus B. Has self timer, body release, wind lock, and is flash ready.

The bellows were good, but I had to flush the shutter with solvent to get back the slow speed escapement. Someone in earlier repairs had completely botched the focus calibration. I managed to set it correctly at 20 feet, but could not attain close focus. Either the design is flawed (unlikely) or something else is incorrectly spaced.

Saturday dawned with a clear sky and good sunlight, so I did a film test with ASA 200 Walgreens print film. There is still plenty of Fall color around. To finish off the roll I headed down to Byrnes Mill City Park on Big River. I found the park flooded, heavy October rains have Big River at least 8 feet over flood stage. I thought the visual results were interesting.
