Red Pentax K-x Digital SLR

I purchased this camera (used) in online auction mainly for three reasons.
1) It was red.
2) The matching 18-55mm lens was red.
3) The camera will also shoot videos.

After some light cleaning, it was ready for a test, so I loaded it with 4 AA batteries and an SD card and stepped out the back door. It was cool and crisp out there, but I had the light.
After a few shots in back to test lens sharpness, I passed through the house, stopping to test low light shooting with the figurine olong the dark basement stairs and ASA (they call it ISO) set to 3200, then out the front door.
Notice that the plants thinks it is Spring. I hope they are not too wrong.
By the way, all shooting was hand held, with some wind.

The good news?
Color of camera did not affect performance. Lens was sharp enough, and it focused really close.

The bad news?
Auto focus is broken, inside the camera body. But that is why we have manual focus mode.
The little wheel for adjusting aperture in AV mode must have dirty contacts or excess wear, it malfunctions and takes some patience.
Pentax chose not to mark the lens with a distance scale.
There is no display screen on the top of the camera body like my other Pentax DSLR cameras have.
The auto exposure was somewhat unpredictable, and I had to do a lot of tweaking of values in software.
And it is a bit thirsty for battery power.
