On Saturday September 18 at dinner time a severe thunderstorm rolled across the river and through Quincy, Illinois.
There was a pocket of partial clearing behind the weather cell as the sun went down, and a well-placed rooftop parking lot across the street from my hotel, with a good view overlooking the Mississippi River.
After dark, storms would arrive again and stay active through the night.
