Sunday April 27 was World Pinhole Photography Day.
Pinhole photography uses a tiny hole poked into a thin opaque plate to deliver the focused image to the film, in place of any type of lens.
Normal characteristics are very long exposure times, fantastic depth of field where normal focusing is irrelevant, and a soft look to the image that can often be perceived as "dreamy" or "ghostly" in character.

"Sharpness" of the image is related to the diameter of the actual pinhole. Think of an infinite number of tiny round "pixels" of light projected onto the film surface in an infinitely overlapping pattern.

For this day I decided to use the camera I assembled with a Bolsey B2 body from circa 1949, a leaf shutter assembly from an A series Argus of the 1940s, all lens elements removed, and a disk of disposable pie tin aluminum into which I had poked a tiny hole, the disk held in place at the normal plane of the aperture blades.
Hole is one fourth of a millimeter in diameter, set 40 mm from the film plane, so working aperture of this pinhole camera is f/160.

I used Walgreens Studio 35 ASA 800 print film.
All shots made use of a tripod and cable release, shutter set to either B or T.

See the exposure entitled "ghosts_within," I set the camera for a very long exposure, then sat in three different positions on the sofa for about 3 minutes each, to make the three ghosts of myself.
