Kodak Instamatic in the 1970s

I pulled out these old prints from images I shot in the mid and late 1970s when traveling in the Southwest.
They were shot with the second camera I ever owned, a Kodak Instamatic 100, first marketed in 1963, purchased new for me in late 1964. It is a very simple camera, one element glass lens, only one aperture. There are two effective shutter speeds, 1/90 with the flash tower down, 1/40 with the flash tower (which loads AG-1 flash bulbs) pulled up out of the body.
Film is 126 cartridge film... same width film as 35mm, but in square format, in plastic cassette.

These prints were printed about 35 years ago on ordinary Kodak paper.
That speaks somewhat for the relative permanence and archivability of film photography vs digital image storage... 35 years ago, there were no CD, flash drive, of hard drive storage means for photo images... and 35 years from now, the ones we have today will probably no longer be viable or readable.

The first windmill was in the Texas Panhandle.
Second windmill was along the road between Portales and Roswell, New Mexico.
The other shots were in my favorite ghost town, Colfax, New Mexico. The town went completely vacant by the early 1940s. 35 years later, 35 years ago, the chalkboards were still hanging in that schoolhouse.

First set of 7 is of the prints scanned, but untouched, with the color they have morphed to. Some did better than others.
Second set of 7 is of the same prints, after I did a little bit of color restoration in software.
The best of 2 worlds?
