Climatron 011010

We were between a wedding ceremony and a reception and needed to spend a little time in the City of St. Louis.
So we stopped by the Missouri Botanical Gardens.

Weather conditions were absolutely Arctic, and it was painful to spend time outside. So, what better place for a little walk than through the tropical rain forest of the Climatron, where it is always at least 80 degrees F and 80% humidity?
When this geodesic dome was first erected of glass and metal, I believe it was the World's largest. (It has since lost that distinction to the one at the Omaha Zoo).

In very cold weather, the camera you take in there almost must be a pocket camera, kept warm before going in... a cold camera quickly gets covered with condensation from the humid conditions!
For these images, I used my little Olympus Stylus 1010 digital. Hand held, available light only.
