chestnuts

Last weekend in Tilles County Park, I was assigned a space under an exotic chestnut tree, for the display of my art.
It was the time of year for the tree to drop its spiky balls and nuts. I developed a love/hate relationship with that tree over the three days. And I brought home a few examples of the Harvest.
Today I shot a series of macro images.
Camera body: Pentax ME Super.
Lens: Vivitar Auto Telephoto Macro 90mm 1:2.8. This lens close focuses to a true 1:1 macro.
Film: Konica Minolta VX 200 daylight print film.
Filter: Blue 80 A.
Lighting: a single 250 watt tungsten 3200 Kelvin bulb in dull aluminum reflector, directed through a large plastic diffuser panel.

Such great lighting! These are actually very expensive. You should have been collecting them in between sales. An old Italian treat - roasted chestnuts. Cut a cross in the final product and roast for 15min @350 degrees.

In the first few shots I started looking for a beak of some kind of
little chick.
