Fake Black C-4 Argus with Trains

The Black C-4 is one of the very rarest Argus cameras of all. Only a small handful are know to even exist. Maybe only 6 or 9?
This one is a "fake" created by someone other than me. Not a factory finish, it was a rather crude homemade attempt to paint a camera black.
I purchased it from a well known Argus collector.
After a little repair and maintenance to make it operational, I could not resist giving it a chance to prove itself.
Wednesday felt like the first day of Spring here. We went to the Museum of Transportation, camera loaded with a roll of Kodak 200.

Nice acquisition Ed, and collectible as well. It is a clumsy effort to make it something that Argus never intended. The real giveaway is the hand painted "C-4" on its front. The lens appears to be quite sharp from closeup to infinity. I like #0010 for composition and color.

C-4 takes good pictures for a fake!!! That museum is great. A lot of machinery in need of a little love!!!
