Argus STL 1000 Holidays 2007

I shot this series during the progression of our recent snow storm here in Missouri.

The STL 1000 is a Japanese made SLR body that was badged and imported by Argus Camera Company of Ann Arbor, Michigan, during the 1960s. There was more than one type of STL 1000, from more than one Japanese manufacturer. It was part of Argus' strategy to remain competitive during the onslaught of new camera designs from overseas.

This STL 1000 uses the Pentax 42mm screwmount type of lenses.
Metering is Cds type, through the lens, activated with a stop down preview switch, match needle in the finder.
I used three lenses in this series:
a Fuji f:2.2/55mm that I rescued broken at the last camera show, that I cobbled back together;
a fairly generis Japanese f:2.8/35mm wide;
and a Spiratone f:2.8/135mm tele, in T Mount with adapter.

The night time shot was through the kitchen window, indoor lights shut off, by the light of our sodium vapor dusk to dawn yard light... exposure was 1/4 second wide open at f:2.2 with the 55mm lens, hand held.

Film was Walgreens Studio 35 asa 200 for prints.
