Argus CR-1 SLR, out to the end of Gravois Road

The Argus SR-1 is a nicely featured Single Lens Reflex camera built in Japan by Chinon for Argus, and brought to the USA for distribution circa 1975.
It has Through The Lens match needle metering with a CdS sensor, a suare vertically running metal blade shutter from 1 second to 1/1000, self timer, DOF preview, and more. It accepts auto stop down 42 mm pentax type screwmount lenses.

This morning I put together a kit with an almost completely functioning CR-1 body, an Argus branded f:2.8 / 135mm tele lens, a Super Takumar F type f:2 / 55mm, and a Super Takumar F type f:3.5 / 28mm.

It got loaded with a single roll of Walgreens asa 200 print film.

I started my excursion running west from High Ridge on Highway 30 (Gravois Road). First stop was the Cedar Hill mill 10 miles from here, with a visit to the creamery, and a walk across the Big River bridge overlooking the dam and mill to visit the bottomland farm on the other side.
After that I headed further west, out to the city of St. Clair, 35 miles from here. It's where Highway 30 comes to an end when it encounters Interstate 44 (old Route 66). The downtown area had some great visual material.

I had the opportunity to use all three lenses.
I say the camera is "almost" fully functional, because in the field (instead of here in the studio during repair and testing), the meter turned out to be intermittent, and sometimes obviously inaccurate. So I relied mostly on my own estimation of exposure, occasionally confirming with a hand held Gossen Pilot meter.
