Argus Beansprout Digital Camera

Tiny (see first photo for relative size).
Cheap.
Comes in choice of colors (I chose blue).
Weather resistant.
Built in rechargable lithium battery.
Internal memory stores up to 26 images at resolution of 640 x 480 pixels.
Does as well with dim interior light as it does with daylight.
Below, just a test batch. I HOPE that you were not expecting too much!

Ed, In each of your test photo's you have a sort of hot spot or back lighting and it's amazing that the camera picked up on most except the Computer Screen in front of the individual, and thus backlight affected the way the camera performed. Evidently the concentrated amount of light there is affecting the spot meter, or light sensitivity it is capable of picking up. It's trying to close down to more acceptable level, which is the skin tone. Which is likewise in the other weeds,tree's etc.backgrounds. Great work for such a small unit. Amazing. With that number of shots, it would be a great emergency unit to carry on key chain. (NOT) Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the history lesson, Ed. I had no knowledge of the beansprout but in your hands it performed very nicely.

Amazingly, one of the first Kodak consumer digital cameras didn't do a lot better than this -- and cost over $1,000! We've come a long way.

You ran a very good test Ed and the camera performed much better than I would have thought. It copes with differing light quantities and qualities extremely well. Good for the Beansprout and good for you (it still comes down to the eye behind the camera...)
