I had two Argus A series cameras, both a pretty near total wreck, but from about the same vintage, late 1930s, prewar. One was a regular model A, the other a Model AF.
Using the best parts from each, I rebuilt them into a fairly presentable looking camera. The serial number tag was still in the bakelite body that was used, No. 107208, so I reconstructed this hybrid as a Model A, with two-position mount (two focus positions)... the shutter, lens glass, and control knobs are from the Model AF (which had the serial number tag missing).
This morning was a beautiful mild and sunny day for early February, so I loaded a roll of ASA 200 Schnucks store brand film (out of date, but from my freezer).
I took it into the Old Town section of Fenton, Missouri, and the nearby banks of the Meramec River.
Here is some of what I got... remember the age of the parts that went into this camera.
Most were shot at f:11, at 1/200 second.
