For those who are not familiar, this camera is not a "rangefinder." Focus is set manually by either estimation of distance or using an auxiliary rangefinder device if you have one. One window on the front is for the viewfinder, the other lets light in through a grid to project bright framing lines into the user's view.

The lens, 50mm f/3.5, three elements, is removable, but not interchangeable with any other lens. The 50mm is the only one Argus ever made for this camera, and the screw mount is a unique threading.

But I consider the Model 21 to be one of the truly underrated cameras of the postwar period, late 1940's, solid in construction with exceptional image quality.

I helped this one out a little with a rubber cup to make the film winding easier and an extension on the shutter release. The mods work very well for me.
The numbers on the sticker on the top show the results of my electronic shutter speed testing, speeds as marked on the dial coupled with actual speeds.

I loaded with a roll of Kodak Gold 200 and put it through a test, weekend before last. Film was processed mail order in Kansas.

Locations are on the Meramec River at old town Fenton and at Valley Park, Missouri. It has been a dry season, the river is very low. Concrete railroad bridge is over Fishpot Creek just above where it meets the Meramec.
