I decided that the garden was going to need a compost and leaf mould supply. So an area was needed to put the bins but not so it became a blot on the rest of the view of the garden. This area behind the garage was ideal but this area would still be visible if you were sitting in the proposed patio area. This is the reason for the dug trench, these are the footings for a wall that will hide the bins behind, making a garden maintenance area hidden behind the garage. The wooden cladding around the right-hand corner of the garage are the moisture barriers for the raised fern bed.
