Changes - April 06In the process of straightening the wall. I've only stained part of the fence - trying not to overdo it. |
30 April 2006The cordyline at the back was a bargain: free! Neighbours were moving, and took the pot with them, but dumped the cordy by the bins. |
13 May 06Cordylines were under £20 each, and Trachycarpus fortunei (palm, far left) was £27 - bargains from the nursey round the corner. |
Main borderAdded a black bamboo (just £17 for a 35 litre pot, from my local nursery); and an Alocasia macrorhizos from Columbia Road. If you look hard, you can also see a very small Alocasia odora, and Ensete 'Maurelii' (both from Mulu). |

25 JuneEchinopsis flowering in the raised border by the house. The Euphorbia melifera in the background didn't really fit in - so I got rid of it. It's been replaced with Buddleja glomerata 'Silver Service'. |

Ipomoea indicaThe perennial morning glory was only about 3 inches tall when I bought it in April. In no time, it was at the top of the 8' fence, and 15' along it. |

Taken from behindRicinus 'New Zealand Purple'(thanks Andy!) is now 6 feet tall. The tallest flower spike on Canna iridiflora 'Ehemanii' is over 7 feet high. |

8 Oct 06The apple tree has gone, and Gollum has taken up residence, waiting lustily for the fairies to emerge from the forest. |
