I've been a regular nay-sayer on the subject of IR software programs. I've poo-poo'd the notion often in my gallery postings. Well - I decided to see what I could do via post-processing of a color image to create an IR-Like image. I have to say that with the proper subject matter I was wrong - you can get pretty close to an IR-like image without ever having shot it in IR (with the wrong subject, I stand by my past position). This was done NOT with an IR simulation program. In a short while I'll be able to describe the specifics and you can make similar images if you desire. Stay tuned.
Here's a *true infrared* (made with an IR converted D70) of the same general scene. Form your own opinion about the realism (or not). http://www.pbase.com/ed_k/image/97488421
