A little out of season for January, but..... The Washington Gardener Magazine had a 2008 Washington Gardener Photo Contest. Winners were announced today and I was fortunate to get the Grand Prize.
There were three categories and I entered two of the three - Small Wonders (floral macros and close ups) and Garden Creatures. My cup ran over - besides the grand prize, I also got first place in both categories.
The contest rules allowed only images made in 2007. As you can see from the shot date this was one of the last dahlias left in my garden in late October. Tripod & aperture stopped down to f/32 to keep thing sharp.
