12/28/07 - Still Life #3, Breaking the Rule of Thirds?

For the serious among us - It's a joke (with tongue in cheek). Place the subject (X?) at a power point. Actually, by placing the entire object off center, I guess it's a slight concession to the *rule*.
Gotta' love it when some judge throws an image out simply because of the *rule of thirds*. It almost makes watching (not competing) worth the price of admission. Nothing like a rule-bound judge to convince folks that competitions are not worth it.

Ed. Good photographer like you can't break this rule unconsciously. :-) You still put two points the top and bottom cross point of the yellow sticks where they touch red ones practically into the points of the rule. Great idea and shot. Vote.

Clever and striking image. Sometimes you gotta break the rules.
