10/25/07 - A Slow Vertical Pan

Check it out - an 8 second exposure. I was looking for a soft painterly expression of tree trunks.
For the composition I tried to not cut off any "feet" and to get separation (avoid overlap) among the nearest trunks. Took a bit of walking around to find something that would work.
Instead of achieving this effect, as I normally would, with a series of 9 multiple exposure shots while moving the camera vertically between exposures, I decided to try it in one long exposure. It was getting pretty dark so getting the long exposure time was no problem - even with the relatively open aperture of f/8 that I used.

Nikon D70
8s f/8.0 at 40.0mm full exif
