Dare to be different? Walking back from yet another sunrise/pond image and passed through a grove of tall lob lolly pines that I've shot many times. Decided to try something different (not the "looking up to the sky through trees"; we've all done that one) by shooting straight up with IR. It seemed bizarre to see the camera pointed straight up sitting on the knee level height tripod (and to stay out of the picture).
Not great, but different. Did manage to get some interesting symmetry with all of the trunks converging toward the center. The blue sky with lots of white puffy clouds forms a blurry appearing background for the trees which I'm not sure that I care for. I'll try this again sometime when the sky is blue - which will shoot as dark and provide a better contrast for the pine needles (but how about the trunks? Try it and see.).
Off tomorrow for a 8,000 mile cross country trip. Hope to post the occasional PAD en route. We'll see.
