Walking up the street after spending the early morning with my camera and nature and passed this (for the 1000th time) at a neighbor's. The dark cloudy sky made for nice lighting so I stopped to play with a few compositions. A vertical looked best, but I posted this horizontal because I shoot/post so many verticals (and my wife prefers horizontal).
If you shoot predominantly horizontal, use a tripod and an L-bracket. It will change how & what you shoot dramatically (and doesn't hurt the camera a bit). Someone sent me a dozen images to critique and they were all horizontal - including several that literally *begged* to be done vertical. Duh.
