My favorite photography tree. http://www.pbase.com/ed_k/image/74997890 is the first of five views - click next a few times to cycle through all five which are all B&W except for the last when the sun tried to break through and turned the mist into gold. I really couldn't decide which I liked best. Went for this one with the human interest factor (it would also please that judge who can't stop saying "if only there were a person in the scene").
There's a different dog walker on two of the other five with a nice black walkway providing a leading line into the image, but I liked this one because it has a mood that conveys the feeling of the morning with fog that limited visibility to about 100 feet; isolation and solitude.
