An interesting thing with both butterflies and dragonflies - they tend to return to the same place for quite a while - so if they fly away, be patient and wait and they may return. That was the case here. It gave me time not only to get several shots, but also to eventually get the dragonfly's perch and some red water lilies lined up in order to give the dragonfly an unusual background.
Spent 3+ hours at Meadowlark Botanical Gardens. It was HOT! and HUMID!
RAW image was processed entirely within the new Nikon Capture NX. Nice program - and it will be even better once the version 0 bugs are fixed.
