Used my new (bought used; now longer manufactured) Nikkor 75-300 lens augmented by a Canon 500D close up lens (why did Nikon discontinue their 2 element close up lens?). It does a pretty nice job for macros and allows a foot and one-half more working distance than the Nikkor-Micro 105.
