Up at 5am to drive 20 miles to a Virginia Highway median strip with 1000's of poppies. Got there just before surise. Beautiful.
This is a montage (two overlaid images) of a part of the field (one in sharp focus and one out of focus - often called the Orton Technique). Most of my shots were macros and other techniques that concentrate on single flowers (or flower parts). This one is for my wife who dispairs when I fail to take any shots of "all of the flowers" ("I'm getting tired of flower macros" is her usual comment - probably justified.) This one's for you, dear.
