2/1/06 - Lost Owl

The owl's not lost; the image file was - well, overlooked anyway. I took this last summer & completely forgot about it until today when I was organizing files. Two others http://www.pbase.com/ed_k/image/55581019 which is a close up of this owl and http://www.pbase.com/ed_k/image/55581020 which is a tiny owl not much larger than your fist. Any birders with idnetifications?

Great photo of a very nice bird - love it! That's a barred owl, although they tend to be pretty large and are typically much larger than a fist.
