1/11/06 - Through the Keyhole

One last cathedral image. Shot the conventional "looking down the length of the cathedral" from the west balcony. Looked for something different & thought - why not shoot through the balcony. And here you have it. I should have tried this from the center of the balcony and gone for symmetry, but a gaggle of people were in the way. Interesting exposure situation. I exposed for the main area of the cathedral which, understandably, left the rail almost black. Nikon Capture's D-Lighting feature does a nice job of adjusting the highlights and shadows in situations like this.
