Got a Christmas card from an aunt today to whom I hadn't sent one as yet. Decided to whip one up using the poinsettias we bought this week.
I spent a few moments (very few) thinking about how to inscribe the card. This was because of the two Oped articles in this morning's paper about the broohahah over making Christmas non-sectarian (Holiday Trees, Winter Break, Season's Greetings, and so on). Well, the card to my aunt said - Merry Chrismas and a Happy New Year because that's who she is (we are). My PAD card is more generic because there are many beliefs out there besides Christian to whom I send my best wishes - and I'm not much for those who, in addition to their religious beliefs, believe that it's "My way or the highway".
