9/11/05 - Battlefield Sunrise

Honorable Mention, Juried exhibit - Scenes from Prince William County - Manassas, VA - January 2006
1st place, advanced color prints, 10/18/05, Northern Virginia Photographic Society
An early experiment in trying to capture an image where the tonal range exceeded the camera's capability - combined two shots (one exposed for shadows and one for highlights). I need to try this again now that I'm comfortable with a graduated neutral density filter. Oh - this was taken last September & I just came across it while looking for images for an upcoming themed exhibit (this matches the theme) and thought that I'd share it since it's striking. Odd that it sat in my files for almost a year unnoticed. I wonder how many other decent images are lurking there.
To prove that I wasn't shirking my PAD duties, here's three from early this morning - http://www.pbase.com/ed_k/image/49082345 & http://www.pbase.com/ed_k/image/49082346 & http://www.pbase.com/ed_k/image/49082347 The first is different (for me).
