The Blue Ridge mountains of Virginia may not have the spectacular autumn color palette of New England. However for me the rich yellows & golds mixed with the earthy browns and the blue/green lichen covered tree trunks and boulders - all wrapped in a soft mist tinted a warm color by the gold/brown hues - are "A Salve for the Soul". Just lay back, breathe deep, and let nature have its way with you.
