Out for my daily walk. Another day with my walk-around P&S learning to "shoot from the hip" instead of slow composition with a tripod. Saw this Great Blue Heron at the edge of a pond and waited for it to take off. Got this one shot. By the time the P&S had gone through its "thing" to shoot/save/recycle the GBH was nearly 100 feet away. With my D300 on high-frame-rate I'd have gotten a half dozen shots before he'd moved 10 feet. Note to self - P&S's aren't made for high frame-rate action shots. Duh.
