A busy morning here at Sleeping Bear Dunes with no less than five photo stops before lunch starting with sunrise at 5:30. This was made at stop #3, about 7:45, while the dragonflies in a deep woods meadow were still too cold and wet to fly after a cool dewy night. This was made with a 1:1 macro plus 1.4X TC for slightly larger than life size; lens nearly wide open and ISO of 800 to get a shutter speed fast enough to offset the breeze that kept blowing things around (the critter is on a piece of tall grass). I intentionally blurred the rear to draw focus to that pretty face.
