03/14/09 - Tulip Montage through Glass

The same three tulips as in yesterday's daily photo - in a montage. One image is the tulips shot through some distorted warped glass that slightly distorted the tulips. The 2nd image shot the tulips through some very deep textured & rippled glass. The tulips in the latter image were virtually unidentifiable as tulips as the glass broke the image into random vertical strips and spread the tulips horizontally as well. The final image is the overlay of the two using the D300 Retouch Menu's Image Overlay feature. Contrast & colors were adjusted in Capture NX2. The big post-process change came about by setting the black point correctly (black background looked too gray out of the camera) which really popped the colors. Getting a bit crazy here.

SHAZAM !!! BINGO !!! WOW !!! What a terrific photo ... colors and composition are terrific but shooting it through that glass makes it a work of art. Love it ... voted

Beautiful! My 1st thought was Crewel Embroidery. Very formal looking.
