Another morning of wondering around, going with the flow, when my #1 & #2 priorities didn't present themselves on another dew-free, almost cloudless morning (except to the west which didn't help).
After changing lenses a few times to suit the current target of opportunity, I had the 75-300 with 1.4X TC on the D300 (630 mm 35 mm equivalent) nearing home & the end of the morning's shoot. That's when I came across this group of young mallards and fortunately the lens was just right as they were a good distance away and trying to increase it when they saw me. Pretty colors in the water and the moving line of mallards were good enough to make this today's PAD.
An hour earlier, just about at sunrise, a group of Canada Geese took off from the same pond and I managed to get off a quick shot - http://www.pbase.com/ed_k/image/101884678 - (a bit soft with the low light and having to pan, but what the heck....)
Added five images to the PAD "reject" gallery including a larger than lifesize portrait of a Monarch Butterfly Caterpillar - http://www.pbase.com/ed_k/pad_2nds_year_5
