Went to bed early last night and decided to get up and try some sunrise shots. Getting up an hour before sunrise is always a crap-shoot as it's too dark to know what the sky is going to look like. Today there were not enough clouds to make sunrise very interesting.
Got to where I was going when there was just a glow in the sky & the streetlights were still on - http://www.pbase.com/ed_k/image/101650841 - so I tried a silhouette (spot meter exposure on the sky).
Then across a pond to shoot back toward the location of this silhouette at sunrise - http://www.pbase.com/ed_k/image/101650842 (the pines across the pond are the ones behind the light in the silhouette). This image was the purpose of getting up early.
Next tried to do a star burst (not the best) with the rising sun peeking through a huge oak - today's PAD. This shot looks back toward the site that yesterday's IR PAD was shot from (same black path & tree) - http://www.pbase.com/ed_k/image/101605409
And finally shot some thistles (my wife loves images of this flower) while walking home - http://www.pbase.com/ed_k/image/101650843
All in a day's work.
