A shot of US Civil War re-enactors at the Manassas Battlefield National Park. Cook & young helper were finishing the camp's breakfast and I was crouching inside the cook's tent looking out onto the encampment. The smoke from the cooking fire did a nice job of blurring & softening the right side of the image (and the figure receding in the background)and helped "pop" the cook's helper, my focus point.
I thought this would make a good test image to try for a period photo "re-enactment". Tried to emulate an old tintype photo using Nik Software's new Silver Efex Pro to perform the conversion from color to B&W. I kept looking for Mathew Brady.
