Spouting Lava.JPG

Taipei, Taiwan

This was enthralling! Honestly. I'm a big fan of water and think public exhibitions like this are very soothing to the ears, the eyes, and the heart.

Here the water shoots and falls to different heights, shaping different curves, whilst lit up from beneath by a multi-coloured light show timed to perfection. In full flow, this fun and frivolous water fountain spits a jet of water high into the air. And yes I did get too close and I did get splashed! Thankfully the lave-like geyser effect in this picture is just that...an effect...phew!!

It made me think about the water feature in Liverpool, which sadly lacks the colourful timed light show, though still pleasant. Incidentally, the best version of this sort of thing that I've seen was in Kuala Lumpur, just outside the Petronas Towers. Location for this one: just outside one of the entrances to the 101 Tower shopping complex.
