To enter the grounds of the Golden Temple in Amritsar you must take off your footwear and cover your head. I took off my shoes and forgot about the head covering until a guard gently barred my entry. Catering to the unprepared, there's a bin full of colourful head garments located next to the feet-washing baths (more like dips in the ground and without chlorine!). A local chap tied it for me. I supply the rather goofy out-of-place look all by myself, which was a difficult pose to achieve but somehow I managed it whilst trying to out-stare the sun with little success and less sense.
This was taken at just after 9am in the morning. Already the sun was blazing and the tiled pathway was beginning to heat.
