Contrasts in Shanghai

Shanghai has a population of over 20 million living in the city and surrounding area, and is the largest city in China. Although Shanghai has undergone a massive economic boom over the last few years, there are still pockets of poverty in the city. It was interesting to see the contrast between the tourist areas and some of the side streets near to the 5 star hotels. This business trip is my first visit to China.
