Lake Isteren is scattered with small islands, making out for a very nice and varied landscape, and a suitable environment for water birds.
Here flocks of Common Goldeneye ducks (Bucephala clangula) and Common Mergansers (Mergus merganser) are peacefully seeking food in the early morning chill.
