The Old Lady standing tall

The old stone lighthouse La Vieille ("The Old Lady"), outside Pointe-du-Raz, Plogoff, Brittany.
It stands 33m tall above sea level, atop a rock called Gorlebella (Breton for "farthest rock"). The tower itself measures 27m.
Built 1882-1887, automated 1995. Light-beam range 18 nm (33 km).
In the far background, 21 km away, you see Cap de la Chèvre, with its big semaphore facility on top, which acts as a watchdog for both sea and air,
coordinating and controlling sea traffic, providing special naval weather reports, alerts, rescue etc.
The Old Lady lighthouse is truly battered when the winter storms sets in. Just check this video clip out, shot Dec. 2007 (second half of the video):
