@mailman:
Specs for the Zuiko 50-200 SWD:
http://asia.olympus-imaging.com/products/dslr/lenses/50-200_28-35swd
As shown its closest focus is 1.2m, yielding a max magnification of 0.21x (equals 0.42x on a FF camera),
which translates to a minimum field size of 81 x 61mm.
W/ a TC-20 you will get twice the magnification; 0.42x, (equals 0.84x on a FF camera),
and half the field size (40,5 x 30.5mm).

Here's the Zuiko compatibility list for the EX-25 extension tube:
http://www.olympus.co.jp/en/support/imsg/digicamera/compati/di004042e.cfm#tl
As you can see the 50-200 (almost at the bottom of the page) yields magnification ranging
from 0.12x to 0.49x, depending on the focal length (FL) used.
But the maximum magnification can get up to 0.49x at 50mm FL (equals 0.98x on a FF camera),
which is slightly more than you will achieve w/ the EC-20.
But at 50mm FL + EX-25, your working distance will only be approx. 28cm, as opposed to 1.2m w/ EC-20.

So if the insect is shy, sometimes the EC-20 is the better option.
But then again, it steals 2 F-stops of light, which gives a longer shutter speed,
which again is not good for close-up/macro photography...
So like always, it's a give and take. Just pick your poison! ;)

Would you be able to get as close using a TC-20 or is the EX-25 better?
Beautiful photos by the way.
