Elabuga , Republic of Tatarstan, Russia 2008 - 2009

A Sunday excursion over to Elabuga, 70 km from Nizhnekamsk but a world away. A 1000 year old city comprised of the old village and a newer section of the city. It was a wonderful break from the "soviet" look of Nizhnekamsk.
Elabuga has been cleaned up to attract tourists and there were plenty there. Clean and well maintained, like no place I have seen in Russia.....and another trip to Elabuga in a one year.
