The Frank J. Ludovico Sculpture Trail is a work in progress along the Cayuga-Seneca Canal in Seneca Falls. Mr. Ludovico is a real estate developer and entrepeneur who donated a piece of abandoned Lehigh Valley Railroad right of way to help create a community resource in Seneca Falls. The concept was an inspiration by Wilhelmina Pusmucans, an artist and gallery owner, to help promote the arts. Periodically a new sculpture is added, generally referencing Seneca Falls of the past or present. As such there are tributes to the Women's Movement which goes back to the 1840s in Seneca Falls, and to modern day personalities in the town: the first female police officer, first woman mayor, etc.
The trail is over a mile long and is nice easy walking with some beautiful views of the canal and the town. Perhaps unfortunately, Ye Olde Photographer wandered this trail on an early evening in September and the light was low and strong. This was not exactly optimum to capture the sculptures, but we can hope to convey enough sense of what the trail is like that you might check it out in person.
